For millions of years, an Intergalactic Coalition of highly intelligent life forms has determined that certain young planets show the potential to produce a highly diverse abundance of life.

These planets, it was agreed, are “protected ecosystems.” They should not be touched.

The Coalition has watched with great interest as one such planet, a tiny blue dot we call Earth, has produced tens of millions of species.

One of these species, a primitive yet fast-growing civilisation of humans, shows the potential to evolve into super-intelligent beings. Maybe one day these humans will join the Coalition.

But recently, life on Earth has started to decline. The planet is undergoing its highest extinction rate in 66 million years.

Some coalition members say that humans will figure out how to protect and rejuvenate life.

Others argue that humans don’t fully appreciate all the different kinds of life that exist on their own planet, so how can they possibly know how to protect it?

With the debate raging, a few rogue members of the Coalition have decided to take matters into their own hands - or rather tentacles, pinchers, spore-encrusted exo-pouches (depends who you talk to). 


The point is - if humans can’t figure out how to protect life on earth, these rogue members will.
